About

Clarity in the numbers. confidence in the mission.

Who We Are

At Stainless Books, accounting is more than debits and credits—it’s about equipping purpose-driven organizations to lead with intention.

With almost 20 years of experience in nonprofit accounting, Stainless Books was built on the belief that strategy and heart don’t have to be at odds. From financial statement audits and grant reporting to day-to-day bookkeeping, the focus is always on how the numbers can move the mission forward.

Each client engagement is grounded in a deep understanding of the organization’s history, people, and goals. Whether navigating a leadership transition, preparing for an audit, or scaling programs after a funding boost, our support is tailored to the moment—and always aligned with the bigger picture.

We thrive on clarity, adaptability, and connection. That means:

  • Spotting patterns in the financials before they become problems.

  • Understanding the why behind your numbers, not just the what.

  • Adapting services as your organization grows or shifts focus.

  • Helping your team feel confident in reports and ready for what’s next.

Every nonprofit is different. That’s why the services aren’t one-size-fits-all. And that’s exactly why clients choose to stay for the long haul.

about the founder

Meet Ugochi

With nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit accounting—as both an in-house professional and a CPA serving organizations from the outside—Ugochi founded Stainless Books to fill a gap that too many nonprofits face: the need for reliable, strategic accounting support rooted in clarity, care, and deep expertise.

In the early stages, many nonprofits rely on well-meaning volunteers or team members without formal accounting training. But as those organizations grow, apply for grants, face audits, or map out strategic plans, financial missteps can become major setbacks.

That’s where Stainless Books comes in.

Ugochi brings a unique combination of strengths to her work:

  • A strategic mind that sees how today’s numbers impact tomorrow’s mission.
  • A deep respect for context and nuance, shaped by years of nonprofit experience.
  • An ability to tailor services to each client, because no two organizations are the same.
  • The flexibility to support nonprofits through seasons of change.
  • And a strong sense of connectedness, knowing that clear books fuel bold missions.

Backed by CPA credentials and former audit experience, her goal isn’t just to keep the books clean—it’s to help clients stay ready, so they never have to scramble when opportunity or scrutiny arises.

For Ugochi, accounting isn’t just about compliance. It’s about service. It’s about using her gifts to help purpose-driven organizations operate with confidence, scale with integrity, and focus on the work that truly matters.

We lead with clarity, precision, and purpose.

At Stainless Books, the work goes beyond numbers—it’s about helping nonprofits thrive with financial confidence. Our values are shaped by a deep commitment to ethical service, curiosity and clarity, and genuine partnership. These values show up in everything we do—from how we build systems to how we communicate with clients.

Our Core Values:

1. Integrity in Every Detail

We do things the right way, not the easy way. That means reliable processes, clear documentation, and delivering work we’re proud to put our name on.

2. Clarity through Insight

We believe that understanding your finances shouldn’t feel overwhelming. We simplify complex ideas and provide insight that helps you lead with confidence—not confusion.

3. Service with Intention

We care deeply about the people behind the mission. Every report, walkthrough, or recommendation is grounded in real-life context and shaped to fit your organization’s unique needs.

4. Continuous Growth

We are lifelong learners—always refining our craft, improving our systems, and staying ahead of what’s next in nonprofit accounting so our clients don’t have to.

5. Adaptability

Whether it’s navigating a leadership change, a new grant, or an unexpected audit, we remain flexible and solutions-focused to support your organization through all seasons.

6. Partnership Rooted in Purpose

We believe in building relationships, not just delivering services. Every engagement is a collaboration—grounded in mutual respect, aligned with your mission, and built to grow with you. We don’t just work for our clients; we work with them.
