Finance Operations Associate

Title: Finance Operations Associate (Independent Contractor)
Hours: 10–15 hours/month 
Location: U.S.-based only
Compensation: $30–$45/hour, depending on experience
Reports to: CEO


🧩 What You’ll Do

You’ll be responsible for keeping financial operations organized and accurate behind the scenes. Your work will support strategic reporting and client decision-making—so attention to detail and process matters. This is a remote, independent contractor role for someone who knows their way around QBO without needing to be taught.


✅ Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update financial records in QuickBooks Online

  • Process and schedule vendor/contractor payments in accordance with SOPs

  • Reconcile accounts, categorize transactions, and ensure coding consistency

  • Track and organize internal labor costs across platforms (e.g., Harvest, Airtable)

  • Prepare source data for dashboards and weekly KPI summaries

  • Support recurring workflows (e.g., accounts receivable, accounts payable, 1099 prep, etc.)

  • Follow detailed SOPs and document improvements when needed

  • Keep deliverables organized in Google Drive 

  • Communicate updates and questions clearly via email or Slack


🔐 Minimum Requirements
  • Certified QBO ProAdvisor (active certificate)

  • 2+ years of hands-on QuickBooks Online experience

  • Comfortable working independently and asynchronously

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Reliable internet and ability to manage your own time

  • Based in the U.S.


🚫 This Role is Not:
  • Client-facing

  • A training role (we’re not teaching QBO or bookkeeping basics)

  • A path to full-time employment or benefits


🧠 Bonus If You Have:
  • Familiarity with Harvest or Airtable

  • Experience working in a remote accounting firm setting

  • Exposure to nonprofit or project-based accounting
